Heel Pain

Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is a stubborn injury and a common cause of heel pain. It develops when the band of tissue that connects the heel bone to the toes becomes inflamed. It can start as a minor injury but can become chronic if not treated promptly.

Achilles Tendonitis

Achilles Tendonitis is common among runners. Achilles Tendonitis can present as pain along the tendon, from the calf muscle to the heel bone. It can be painful when pushing off on the toes and can cause severe pain after exercise.

Heel Spur

Many of our heel spur patients are athletes or those who stand on their feet all day, like nurses, teachers or factory workers. If you’ve flat feet or high arches, this can predispose your feet to heel spurs. Generally, the heel spur itself – the bony growth – does not cause any pain, it’s the soft-tissue injury associated with the heel spur that hurts.

Heel Pain Causes

Heel pain can be caused by ill-fitting footwear, high heeled shoes, prolonged periods on your feet, increase in your daily activities such as long walks, running, marathons, sport or even sprains and trauma. Getting to the cause of your pain, via our comprehensive assessment, is essential for the long-term resolution of your problem.
