Shockwave

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy better known as Shockwave Therapy is a treatment commonly used to treat chronic foot and ankle conditions, usually Plantar Fasciitis and Achilles Tendinopathy.

Shockwave Therapy delivers pulses of sound waves through the surface of the skin via a hand – held probe. The body responds with increased metabolic activity around the site of the pain. This stimulates and accelerates the healing process. Applications are given at short intervals – just a few minutes each. This activates the self-healing process and continues to act even after therapy has been completed.

Advantages of Shockwave Therapy

  • No anaesthesia
  • No injections
  • No surgery
  • No Negative side effects
