A moon boot, or more commonly known in the medical field as CAM (Controlled Ankle Movement) Walker, come in different shapes and sizes. Some are open toe, finish below your knee, or half way up your leg and some even have an air pump installed to reduce movement.
Depending on your injury, a moon boot is an adjustable product that is designed to limit ankle and foot movement to aid in the recovery of serious sprains, tears, breaks or surgery.

A moon boot will take the load off the injury whether it’s a bone, tissue or muscle so that the wearer can continue to move without the added stresses or risk to the injury. It will help speed up your recovery as it protects the injured area while still allowing movement.
If you’re given a moon boot by your Podiatrist, you must wear it for the best outcome from your injury. If it’s taken off early you risk reinjuring it.
