Treatment for Metatarsal Stress Fracture of the Foot

Metatarsal stress fractures in the foot are diagnosed through X-ray and once diagnosed, treatment may include the following;

  • Immobilisation of the foot to allow the fracture to heal, such as a Moon Boot/CAM Walker
  • Changes to exercise/ routine such as swimming or cycling instead of running
  • Address any biomechanical issues which increased risk of a stress fracture developing
  • Low Level Laser Therapy
  • Slow return to exercise.
